Custom Machining: Quality Assurance

At HMC, we know quality is very important to our customer and we instill that responsibility in every employee.

HMC assures quality products through documented procedures, process checks, and work scopes through; hands on skilled technicians and the latest Electronic Metrology; Coordinate Measuring up to 6 - Meter, Klingelnberg & Maag Gear Checking, and on board Gear Tooth Profile, Lead, and Pitch inspection up to 6 - Meters. Quality is guaranteed before ever leaving a machine at HMC.

All Weldments are visually inspected by (CWI), Certified Welding Inspectors, and undergo Magnetic Particle Testing by level III Technicians, and if UT is required; Level II Technicians perform these inspections.

HMC's Machine Tools and other Equipment are regularly calibrated by Skilled 3rd Party technicians.

By following our own 30 years of tried and proven Standards/Specifications coupled with the AGMA's and ISO's, HMC can achieve and verify the highest of tolerances on our machined components and AGMA 15 Quality Gearing.

By regular attendance of AGMA Training Clinics, Equipment Manufacturer's Seminars, Gear Expo's, IMTS Shows, and Periodicals, the HMC Staff is expected to and does stay current with the latest technology.

We have a seasoned staff of Machinist's and Welders; (some with over 30 years tenure), and our Apprentice Program by inducting from local Trade School Graduates, mostly raised in Rural Southern Indiana, is producing some of the best trained, young, and skilled people anywhere.

All of our Welders are certified to AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code for Unlimited Heavy Weldment Thicknesses.

Our Gearbox Rebuild Division uses every possible Test to ensure and assure the Drives HMC rebuilds operates with specified/recommended Backlash, Contact Patterns, Noise Levels, Temperature, and Vibration.
