HMC offers on-site supervision of installation for the gears and gearing components we sell to our customers. We have experience working closely with experienced dragline maintenance project managers, millwrights, electricians, ironworkers, boilermakers, welders, laborers and more.
HMC Gears has been offering DTC Audits for our customers gearing for multiple years now. Dynamic Tooth Contact Audits are real-time assessments of the current condition of your open gearing.
Early detection of issues is the key to the prolonged life of gearing. The lead time of pinions is normally several months and could extend out even more than that. Large gears can easily take up to a year. Therefore it is essential to prevent a catastrophic failure.
HMC utilizes thermal imaging and stop-motion photography to examine the gear, pinion, gear guards, and bearings. The audit is performed while the equipment is operating at normal loaded conditions. DTC Audits are able to detect cracks, misalignment, lubrication issues, pitting, spalling, contamination, bearing issues, gear guard seal problems, and more.
